The Inhibitory Effect of Flavonoids and their Acetate on the Histamine release in IgE Sensitized-Mast Cell

Abstract
Effect of flavonoids and their acetate such as morin, quercetin, naringin and hesperidin on histamine release from the degradation of lgE-sensitized mast cell induced by antigen challenge was studied in vitro. Flavonoids, morin and quercetin showed more potent inhibitory activity on histamine release than falvonones, naringin and hesperidin. At the concentration of 10^-4M, the inhibitory of flavonoids on histamine release was morin, quercetin. naringin and hesperidin inthe order named, respectively. From the concentration of 10^-8M to 10^-5M, quercetin had more potent inhibitory effect on histamine release than morin, but in 10^-4M, both of them showed similar inhibitory activity.
Quercetinacetate at the concentration of 10^-8M, 10^-7M, 10^-6M and 10^-5M had better inhibitory effect on histamine release than its genin. The inhibitory effect of morin on histamine release was slightly reduced by acetylation. Acetylated flavonones reduced slightly the inhibitory effect on histamine release in lgE-sesitized mast cell in comparison with their genin. All flavonoids and their acetate showed the inhibitory effect on histamine release concentration of 10^-4M, quercetin have strongest activity, and flavonols have more potent inhibitory activity on histamine release than falvanones. Generally acetyl flavonoids decrease the inhibitory activity of histamine release in IgE-sensitized mast cell as compared with their flavonoids respectively, but quercetin acetate increase the inhibitory activity as compared as quercetin.
